NEW this Year: Fun Plus+

Starting this year – when you register for a Fun Plus program, you’ll have the option to register for Fun Plus+ on the same day, extending the care of your child from the end of programs to 6:00 pm for the whole term!

Operating much like After Care, Fun Plus+ will offer a relaxed environment, engaging activities, outdoor time and a school-approved snack. Participants will be delivered to the Fun Plus+ space following their Fun Plus program and can be picked up any time between 4:45 and 6 pm.

Snack Masters: Fun With Food!

Calling all little chefs! Snack Masters: Fun With Food is an exciting and interactive cooking program that introduces young learners to the joys of making simple, healthy, and delicious snacks while fostering creativity, independence, and a love for food. Our sessions encourage confidence, teamwork, and curiosity in the kitchen, all while reinforcing important skills like counting, following directions, and fine motor development. Each class is packed with laughter, learning, and lots of yummy bites!

Embark on an exciting adventure into the world of chess! Chess Quest is a fun and engaging class designed to build strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence on the chessboard. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an experienced player looking to sharpen your tactics, this class will guide you through interactive lessons, friendly matches, and exciting challenges. Through puzzles, storytelling, and hands-on play, participants will develop key chess skills such as opening principles, tactical combinations, and endgame strategies—all while having fun in a supportive environment. Curiosity Club: Outdoor Science, Art & Play invites young explorers to discover the wonders of nature through hands-on science, creative art projects, and playful outdoor adventures. Each session encourages curiosity and problem-solving as participants engage in experiments, nature-based crafts, and group activities that spark their imagination. From studying local ecosystems to building artistic creations inspired by the environment, they will develop a deeper connection to the world around them. Through exploration and play, they will enhance their observation skills, teamwork, and appreciation for science and creativity. This engaging program fosters a love for learning while encouraging active outdoor fun!

Change Through STEAM: Innovate, Create, Inspire is a dynamic program that blends science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to spark creativity and problem-solving. Through hands-on projects focused on sustainability, design, and social justice, participants develop critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience. With a focus on innovation and real-world challenges, this program empowers young minds to create, experiment, and inspire positive change in their communities.

Nature Navigators: Outdoor Science is a hands-on learning adventure that connects students with the natural world. Through outdoor exploration, they observe, experiment, and discover ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental science. Activities include plant and animal identification, weather studies, and eco-friendly projects. By engaging in inquiry-based learning, students develop critical thinking and scientific skills. Students engage in exciting challenges involving engineering, science, and problem-solving, fostering creativity and teamwork. With project-based learning and real-world applications, participants develop critical thinking skills while exploring the wonders of STEM. The program encourages curiosity, confidence, and collaboration in a fun, supportive environment. Whether building structures, conducting experiments, or tackling design challenges, students gain valuable knowledge that sparks a lifelong love of learning.

The Eras Kitchen: Cooking Through Taylor’s Albums

Grade 4 – 6

The Era’s Kitchen: Cooking Through Taylor’s Albums is a fun and creative cooking class where students explore different recipes inspired by Taylor Swift’s albums! Each week, we’ll cook a dish that reflects the mood, themes, or era of one of her albums—from country comfort food to glittery pop treats. Along the way, students will practice essential kitchen skills, learn about different ingredients, and express their creativity through food. Whether we’re making “Fearless” French toast or “Red” velvet cupcakes, this class brings music and cooking together in an exciting way. No prior cooking experience is needed—just a love for good food and great music!

Inspired by famous artists and imaginative themes, participants create their own unique masterpieces. The program fosters confidence, curiosity, and a love for art in a playful and interactive way. Sugar & Spice: Making Desserts Extra Nice is a fun and engaging program for young chefs who love sweet treats and creative cooking! Participants will explore the magic of making desserts as they learn simple, hands-on techniques to create delicious treats. Through easy-to-follow recipes, they’ll discover how ingredients like sugar, cinnamon, and chocolate work together to create flavors and textures. Along the way, they’ll practice measuring, mixing, and decorating, building confidence in the kitchen. This program also encourages teamwork, creativity, and a love for homemade desserts. Get ready to sprinkle in some fun and whip up something extra nice!

The Art Lab: Experiment, Imagine, Create! is an exciting and hands-on program where young artists explore creativity through playful experimentation. Participants will discover new techniques, mix materials, and push the boundaries of traditional art. Each session encourages curiosity and imagination, allowing children to express themselves freely while building confidence in their artistic abilities. From color-mixing experiments to unique textures and 3D creations, The Art Lab is all about discovery and fun. With a focus on process over perfection, this program nurtures problem-solving skills and creative thinking. Guided by engaging prompts and open-ended projects, participants will leave each session inspired and eager to create more!

Wickedly Creative: Adventures at Shiz is a dynamic STEAM program that blends science, engineering, arts, and math with the magic of Wicked. Inspired by Shiz University, students will explore creative writing, drama, visual arts, and design while incorporating hands-on problem-solving and engineering challenges. They’ll craft their own characters, build enchanted settings, and experiment with materials to bring their imaginative worlds to life. This interactive experience fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, helping students see the connections between the arts and innovation. Whether they love to write, design, or build, every child will discover their own unique spark in this wickedly fun adventure!

Junior Musical Theatre: Curtains Up! is a fun and engaging program where young performers explore the magic of musical theatre. Participants will build confidence as they learn singing, dancing, and acting skills in a supportive environment. Through exciting games, creative movement, and character development, they will bring stories to life on stage. Each session encourages teamwork, self-expression, and a love for performing arts. Whether learning a lively group number or stepping into the spotlight for a solo, every child gets a chance to shine. Curtains Up! is the perfect place for budding actors to discover their passion for theatre!

The Land of Oz: A Wicked Adventure

Grade 1 – 3

Step into the enchanting world of the wickedly creative — a program where imagination takes flight and young minds get to explore the magic of storytelling, art, and performance, all with a wicked twist! This fun and interactive program is inspired by the fantastical elements of the musical Wicked, blending themes of friendship, courage, and self-discovery with a dash of mischievous magic. Each session allows children to explore the world of Oz through a blend of hands-on experiments, art projects, and creative storytelling. Whether it’s crafting Glinda’s sparkly wand, designing Elphaba’s emerald-green potions, or experimenting with “magic” that turns everyday objects into something extraordinary, kids will have a chance to explore science and art through the lens of their favourite magical world. Join us and unleash your inner Wickedness!

Canada Safety Council: Home Alone Certificate

Grade 4 – 5

Is your child ready to stay home alone? The Home Alone Safety program helps children and their families get ready for a child’s first steps towards independence and being without adult supervision. Safety and accident prevention are the common themes throughout the program. The information is relevant and current. Course content includes:

  • Street smarts and safety
  • People safety (“Tricky People” and Safe strangers)
  • Online and internet safety
  • Snacking and kitchen safety
  • Home fire safety
  • Preventing accidents
  • How to handle emergencies and other situations
  • Basic first aid skills

NOTE: In order to complete the certification, participants will be required to attend all sessions and receive a passing grade on a test covering the materials. The test will be held during the last session of the term and make-up opportunities (if requested) will be at the discretion of an Explore It! company director.

Canada Safety Council: Babysitting Certificate

Grade 6

Prepare your child to become a confident, responsible babysitter with the Canada Safety Council’s Babysitting Certificate Program. This engaging and informative program is designed for students in grade 5 and up, providing them with the essential skills and knowledge to safely care for children. From child development to emergency response and first aid, this course covers everything needed to be a successful babysitter. Throughout the program, participants will learn important babysitting skills, including how to manage different age groups, handle emergencies, and keep kids safe and entertained. They’ll also practice planning age-appropriate activities and understand the basics of effective communication with parents. At the end of the program, participants will take a final exam to assess their knowledge. Those who pass the exam will earn a Babysitting Certificate, validating their readiness and skills to babysit responsibly.

  • NOTE: Students must attend all sessions and establish a passing grade of 75 percent on the final examination in order to receive their certificate.
  • NOTE: In order to complete the certification, participants will be required to attend all sessions and receive a passing grade on a test covering the materials. The test will be held during the last session of the term and make-up opportunities (if requested) will be at the discretion of an Explore It! company director.

Dance Party: Swifty Steps & Pop Star Moves

Junior Kinder – Grade 2

Dance Party: Swifty Steps and Pop Star Moves is a high-energy movement class designed for young dancers. Kids will groove to upbeat music, learning fun and simple choreography inspired by Taylor Swift and other pop stars. Through creative movement and playful routines, children will build coordination, confidence, and rhythm while dancing to their favorite hits. The class encourages self-expression and teamwork in a positive and supportive environment. No prior dance experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to sparkle like a superstar on the dance floor!

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced DIY enthusiast, this program offers a variety of fun, stylish, and meaningful projects inspired by Taylor’s music, fashion, and fandom. From friendship bracelets and lyrical embroidery to concert-ready accessories, every activity is designed to spark joy and self-expression. With step-by-step guidance and plenty of room for personalization, participants will feel empowered to create with confidence as they channel their creativity and celebrate their love for music in a truly artistic way.
